Two men in Groveland are undergoing rabies treatment after they were attacked by a coyote. Police said Monday evening Jon McPherson was carrying the groceries and his daughter to his house when he was attacked. "I felt something bite me in the back side and there it was, a coyote," McPherson said. "I had her just get up on the porch and I kind of stayed in between it and my daughter. It wasn't going to get to my daughter that's for sure." A short time later a man living in the same area reports that he encountered the animal in his yard. He had to kick it several times before it was scared away. "Be on the lookout. Consider any wild animal to be dangerous. Coyotes that approach you usually run," Groveland Police Sgt. Dwight McDonald said. Parents in the area are encouraged to keep a close eye on their children, especially around and after dusk. Police are also encouraging pet owners to use leashes.
