A heavy snowstorm has snarled traffic in northern Spain and Slovenia, with scores of motorists needing to be rescued. In Slovenia, authorities closed three border crossings to truck traffic to prevent road pileups. Slovenian authorities told people to stay indoors if possible. Schools were closed Thursday in two municipalities in the west, and more closing were expected on Friday.
