There are unconfirmed reports that a meteorite has landed in Perth after dozens of people spotted a bright, white light in the sky. A meteorite is believed to have landed in the Perth Hills area. There were dozens of unconfirmed sightings of a bright, white light flashing across the Perth sky on Monday morning. A Gidgegannup woman, known as Angela, told ABC radio she believed a meteorite had landed in her paddock. Drivers also captured images of the white flash on their dash cameras and #fireball became a trending topic on Twitter in WA. Jay Ridgewell, from the Curtin University research group Fireballs In The Sky, told AAP they had received at least six reports and were confident it was a meteor. She said if it did land on Earth then it would be a meteorite and geologists would be eager to study it. "Thousands of meteors fall from the sky every year, but it's not as common to see them in such a populated area," she said.
