The National Weather Service says an EF-1 twister with winds topping 110 mph touched down and caused some damage. WHAS11's Meteorologist Reed Yadon surveyed the damage alongside the NWS. Just before the twister touched down, there was only a severe thunderstorm warning and not a tornado warning and WHAS11 asked why. "To be honest, we had been issuing several tornado warnings through the evening and every storm last night was rotating. For whatever reason, most of those were not making it down to the ground and we don't like to over warn if we don't have to. Some of the other ones were in a better atmosphere than this one happened to be," Joe Sullivan of the National Weather Service said. There was also damage in Corydon, Kentucky and Smith Mills, 140 miles west of Louisville.
